Given the crucial importance of SDVs for the industry, Here Technologies is focusing on shaping the future of SDVs at the IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich.

AWS and HERE present the SDV Accelerator at the IAA Mobility in Munich. The platform is designed to support automotive manufacturers in the development, testing, and integration of software-defined vehicles.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Here Technologies introduced the SDV Accelerator at the IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich. The offering aims to provide automotive manufacturers with a reference architecture, sample code, and selected partner solutions via the AWS Marketplace. The goal is to consolidate the development processes of software-defined vehicles (SDV) in the cloud. The SDV Accelerator expands the strategic collaboration between AWS and Here, which began in 2022, to enable smarter driving experiences for automotive manufacturers and support companies in optimising their supply chains.

The platform integrates AWS cloud and AI functionalities with maps from Here and location technology. It is complemented by solutions from partners such as Arm, Elektrobit, Forvia, Micware, Mireo, NTT Docomo Business, Panasonic Automotive Systems, and QNX. According to the announcement, the open architecture is intended to help promote interoperability and give manufacturers control over their development environments.

A central element is the virtual integration of maps and navigation functions from Here. This is intended to allow navigation, automated driving, and range management to be tested in a development environment. The platform is complemented by the jointly developed simulation tool SceneXtract, which generates virtual driving scenarios to secure driver assistance systems and automated driving functions.

The SDV accelerator explained at a glance.

“The SDV Accelerator represents a solution to the central challenge of the industry: bringing innovative vehicles to market faster,” says Ozgur Tohumcu, general manager automotive & manufacturing at AWS. “The transformation towards software-defined vehicles requires a new model that combines collaboration and differentiation. The SDV Accelerator offers automotive manufacturers the opportunity to design their software and technology independently while still cooperating openly,” comments Remco Timmer, senior vice president and head of automotive solutions at Here.
