What to expect at the Automotive Battery Conference 2026

The Automotive Battery Conference will focus on current developments in materials, cells, battery systems, safety, regulation and market processes. In doing so, the conference addresses some of the central questions shaping e-mobility in 2026 and beyond: How can more powerful batteries be developed? What role will recycling, second-life concepts and stationary storage play? And how are regulation, warranties, charging infrastructure and international market developments changing the battery value chain?

Participants will receive a broad overview of technical and economic trends – from battery development and production to high-power charging, testing procedures and system integration. International perspectives, including from China and the ASEAN region, will also play a role in Munich. In addition, the conference will look beyond passenger cars, covering batteries for commercial vehicles, trains and military applications.

Which speakers will take to the stage in 2026?

The agenda for the 8th Automotive Battery Conference is taking shape. Confirmed speakers include Nicholas Bellino, Senior Manager Battery Regulation at TÜV SÜD Product Service, and Mark Bleischwitz, who works in Business Development and Application Engineering at SurTec. Dr Joachim Damasky, CEO & Managing Director of LIONsmart, and Dr Martin Dürr, Managing Director/CTO of Dromos, are also set to give presentations.

Also on the speaker list are Lutz Lehmann, Product Manager Digitalization at Telsonic, and his colleague Martin Stier, Head of Market Development at the Swiss company. Eric Link, Technical Account Manager at Siemens Industry Software, will also come to the Bavarian capital.

The audience can also look forward to presentations by Nico Münch, Senior Director Program Management at Rimac, and Fabian Schöffel, Product Strategy Manager at MAN Truck & Bus. Jochen Siebert, Managing Partner – Singapore at JPW Asia Consulting, and Jürgen Müller, ART Owner HV Battery and Battery Core EAHB at Volkswagen, have also been confirmed as speakers.

The focus will be on trends in high-voltage batteries, battery management systems, fast charging, 800V architectures, thermal management, as well as safety and sustainability requirements.
