GM improves infotainment controls in selected Cadillac models
The Cadillac cockpit combines driving information, navigation and comfort functions across multiple digital displays. Future software versions are intended to simplify commonly used interaction paths.

General Motors is updating selected Cadillac models with simpler media controls, profile-linked seat settings, clearer charging menus and new OTA functions. A redesigned home screen will follow.
General Motors is rolling out new software functions for the infotainment systems in several Cadillac model lines. The update covers media controls, personal user profiles and digital controls, with GM saying customer feedback informed the development.
The first changes are already being distributed to eligible vehicles, while further functions are due to follow over the coming months. The rollout is part of a longer-term effort to simplify common interactions across Cadillac’s digital cockpit.
What changes in media control?
A new queue view shows which track will play next. Users can also switch between compatible audio apps and sources through a selection menu. GM says fewer inputs than before are required. The playlist view is only available with supported paid streaming subscriptions. Customers therefore still need the relevant account and service access where these are required by the provider.
GM is linking personal profiles to the seat-memory buttons. Up to two user accounts can be assigned to the corresponding controls. Pressing a button will activate both the stored seat position and the associated driver profile. The function will first be available in the 2026 Cadillac Vistiq and is intended to reach further GM vehicles later.
Cadillac is also enlarging several touch-sensitive areas on the display. The changes apply to frequently used functions such as selecting the drive mode or entering a Wi-Fi password. The graphical controls for seat adjustment are being redesigned as well. Their layout will more closely reflect the physical switches in the door, making it clearer which section of the seat is being adjusted.
What is changing for charging and connectivity?
Cadillac is revising labels and explanations within the charging app to make the available functions easier to understand. Text and graphics in the head-up display are also intended to appear sharper. GM is additionally removing a confirmation step that was previously required when setting up a Bluetooth connection.
Some of the functions are already being delivered through over-the-air software updates. Supported vehicles include the 2025 and 2026 Cadillac Lyriq, Optiq and Vistiq, as well as the CT5 from the same model years. Further features will follow in the coming months. The exact timing will depend on when the relevant software package becomes available for each vehicle.
What will the revised home screen offer?
A later update will introduce a redesigned home screen. By default, it will use a split layout with a larger interactive map, allowing users to enter a destination, plan a route and navigate without leaving the home screen. GM also intends to distinguish navigation and media more clearly. Large and small screen tiles will be adjustable through a simplified editing process.
The changes show how GM is developing its interfaces incrementally rather than replacing the complete cockpit system at once. For Cadillac owners, the immediate focus is on shorter interaction paths, clearer graphics and a more consistent link between digital profiles and physical vehicle functions.
