Hyundai is adding two digital entertainment packages to selected electric models, bringing video streaming, news, games and children’s content to the central display. A second tier also includes an in-car Wi-Fi hotspot, while access is booked through the Bluelink Store.
Hyundai is introducing two entertainment packages for selected models, giving occupants access to streaming services, news and other digital content through the central infotainment display. The packages can be purchased through the Bluelink Store, with one version also adding an in-car Wi-Fi hotspot for passengers’ mobile devices.
The carmaker says the offer is intended primarily for situations in which the vehicle is stationary, including charging stops, longer waits and time spent parked before appointments. Separate subscriptions may still be required for individual content platforms, so access to the package does not automatically include every third-party service.
Which services are included?
The package brings Netflix, Disney+, YouTube and Haystack News into the vehicle. Games, karaoke applications and children’s content are also included, widening the offer beyond video streaming alone and turning the central display into a broader entertainment interface.
The services run through Hyundai’s Connected Car Navigation Cockpit. Known as ccNC, the platform provides the technical basis for a range of connected vehicle functions and integrates the entertainment applications directly into the in-car interface rather than relying on a separate device.
Marcus Welz, CEO of Hyundai Connected Mobility, said the company wanted to give customers more ways to personalise how they use their vehicles. The new options are intended to strengthen connectivity and broaden the experience for occupants.
What does the Wi-Fi version add?
Hyundai offers the entertainment package in two forms. Alongside the standard version, customers can choose a package with an integrated Wi-Fi hotspot.
This allows passengers to connect compatible smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices to the internet. The offer therefore extends entertainment beyond the vehicle’s fixed central display and can support several personal devices during a journey or stop.
Hyundai has not disclosed the available bandwidth, included data allowance or possible regional restrictions. Customers will also continue to need their own accounts and paid subscriptions for some streaming services. The announcement does not clarify whether hotspot usage is subject to separate limits or country-specific conditions.
Which models are supported?
The package is initially available for vehicles equipped with the ccNC infotainment system. These include the IONIQ 6, the performance-focused IONIQ 6 N and the IONIQ 9, as well as the electric STARIA.
The initial rollout therefore focuses on newer electric models using Hyundai’s current infotainment architecture. The company has not said whether further vehicles will be added later or whether availability will vary between individual European markets.
How can customers subscribe?
Both versions can be booked through the Bluelink Store in the myHyundai app. Hyundai is offering terms of one or three years. The press release does not state prices. Customers are therefore expected to see the applicable terms in the Bluelink Store for their selected vehicle and user account.
The launch expands Hyundai’s portfolio of digitally bookable vehicle functions. It also shows how infotainment systems are increasingly being used as platforms for post-purchase feature activation and recurring subscription models.
