Mercedes-Benz is rolling out a fresh update package for its third-generation MBUX system, adding retro games, Dolby Atmos audio and direct Teams call integration.

Mercedes-Benz is issuing a large-scale over-the-air upgrade to around 700,000 vehicles equipped with MBUX 3.3, expanding the infotainment system across entertainment, productivity and day-to-day convenience. The update reflects the brand’s broader aim to deepen the role of software-driven features in the driving experience.

Casual gaming and streamlined digital tools

The upgrade introduces immersive audio via Dolby Atmos in apps such as Amazon Music, Audible and Tidal, while IMAX-Enhanced films with DTS:X sound become available through Ridevu. A small collection of retro-inspired mini-games adds light entertainment during charging stops or waiting periods.

On the productivity side, an improved calendar app is designed to synchronise appointments more reliably and plan routes automatically based on upcoming events. Microsoft Teams calls can be initiated directly from the interface, turning the system into a more practical tool for drivers who work on the move.

The voice assistant also gains expanded capabilities, enabling more vehicle settings and briefing functions to be managed by spoken command. In combination, the upgrades aim to strengthen both digital comfort and everyday usability, reinforcing MBUX as a central touchpoint in Mercedes’ software ecosystem.
